Description:

Seit ihrem fünften Lebensjahr sind sie unzertrennlich, obwohl die Teenager Sam und Jules kaum unterschiedlicher sein könnten: Jules sprudelt vor Energie und Lebensfreude. Ihr ganzes Dasein dreht sich um ein einziges Ziel: Tanzen. Um nach der Highschool an der Elite-Universität Juilliard angenommen zu werden, trainiert sie unermüdlich. Sam dagegen hatte es nie leicht. Sie lebt mit ihrer Mutter allein und muss nach der Schule arbeiten, um den Tanzunterricht bezahlen zu können. Obwohl Sam ebenfalls nach Juilliard will - Jules und sie haben bisher alles gemeinsam gemacht -, schafft sie es nur unregelmäßig ins Studio und ist nicht immer richtig bei der Sache. Immer häufiger steht sie in Jules Schatten.

Als Jules zum ersten mal Schmerzen in der Hüfte spürt, ignoriert sie diese entschlossen. Die unerbittliche Diagnose Krebs bedroht nicht nur ihre Karriere als Tänzerin. Jules weigert sich aber, die Ernsthaftigkeit der Krankheit zu akzeptieren. Stattdessen konzentriert sie sich noch stärker auf ihr Training. Der Begriff Zeit erhält eine neue Bedeutung für sie und ihre Freundschaft mit Sam wird auf eine harte Probe gestellt.
